#MentorMeet: Timber Charter

Meet Timber, a local artist and illustrator working in graphics, prints, and murals!

.

.

✨ What are you passionate about?

"I’m passionate about creating things that are meaningful to me mostly drawing fun illustrations and cooking delicious food and bread for the people I love."

.

.

✨ What does “mentoring” mean to you?

"Mentoring to me is allowing someone with a different perspective to help navigate you through your life when there are questions, ideas, etc. Having vulnerability and connection to wiser people and internalizing their advice is mentoring. I think anyone and anything can be a mentor and any knowledge you share with the people around you could help in more ways than you know!"

.

.

✨ What goals do you have for yourself in 2021?

"My main goal for 2021 is to not hold myself to any standards. I’m trying to make my creativity a full-time job and I know it will be a wild ride. We’re just going to see where it goes."

.

.

✨ What’s one simple way you’d like to contribute to your community’s needs this year?

"I wave to every single person on my walks around my neighborhood in my head an acknowledgment of someone’s existence and a simple “hello” can really make a difference and give people a sense of community in this isolation we’ve been living in."

.

.

✨ Is there someone in your life who has been a mentor to you in an unexpected way?

"My friends who have doubled as therapists I could never thank enough."

.

.

✨ What other small businesses or nonprofits do you admire?

"I love, love, love, the Orange Circle Antique Mall and Hopper and Burr! Both of those small businesses are absolutely essential to my survival."
