#MentorMeet: Grayce

Meet Grayce, a Fountain Valley High School Junior and the president of her school's Rotary Interact Club! She is an active volunteer with MentorMe Learning and recently helped at our Drive-In Movie Event!

✨ What are you passionate about?

“I am very passionate about being there for others, and making sure I can help people as much as possible, instead of feeling guilty about not being there for them.”

.

.

✨ What does “mentoring” mean to you?

“Guiding people through your experiences and leading with morals, and making sure they can get through life’s challenges on their own.”

.

.

✨ How are you staying connected with others?

“Through quarantine I stayed connected through Instagram calling. I would call my friends, game, talk, and have fun. When quarantine started lifting my friends and I would meet up at specific places (while still following social distancing regulations).”

.

.

✨ Is there someone in your life who has been a mentor to you in an unexpected way?

“My friend, Raymond. He’s like three years older than me. But when I have been down, needed advice, or through life, he’s really been there in a way that I didn’t expect of him.”

.

.

✨ What is one positive thing you’ve seen come out of the challenges we have all been facing during 2020?

“I have seen a lot of community involvement. A bunch of people have come together to spread the word about Covid, making sure that people stay safe. Instead of bringing people down with negative thoughts, the community has thought of ways to help people through the challenges.”

.

.

✨What is one thing you like to do for fun when you’re not busy with high school life?

“I love to drive around! Right now I have my permit, so I still am driving with my parents, but in a few weeks I will hopefully have my drivers license!.”
