CHANGEMAKER
LEADERSHIP
YEAR
This 5-month youth empowerment program meets on Saturdays between January and May. Students work through activities in teams to become community leaders, changemakers, and their best selves.
HOW IT WORKS
Teams are led by mentors who facilitate the following processes:
1. Students identify their interests and strengths;
2. Research their community: identify and visit businesses working towards solving community problems; and
3. Create a project/internship with a local business.
The program culminates with an event where students share their personal growth and accomplishments through their digital stories. Local businesses, leaders, and community members will all be present to congratulate students on their accomplishments.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS
Participation in this program is great for college essays, resumes, applications, and real-world experience. It is also a valuable tool for girl scouts, boy scouts, and other community-service minded organizations.

Note: This program does not focus on staying in the classroom. We get out in the community to learn from mentors and do actual field work.

Help Fund This Program
With your donation we are able to provide training for 6 students to become leaders in their communities and help change lives of so many others.
I think one of the top-selling points of MML is the approach you guys have with students. They don't feel like they are in a class with students and a teacher, but in a room with friends trying to help each other to be more confident and pursue their real goals in life.
Rafaela, parent of 7th grader, 2019-20 Changemaker Leadership Cohort
As a parent, I loved seeing my son achieve his goals throughout the program. And seeing his confidence boost and how he is engaged to really make a change in the communities he is involved in.
